Superdrug & other retailers support vaccine roll-out

Five Superdrug stores are being trialled as Covid-19 vaccination hubs to help support the roll-out of the vaccine. Superdrug has its own team of qualified nurses in its stores together with trained pharmacists. Other retailers offering premises for the requirement include Tesco, Waitrose, Bensons for Beds, Boots and Morrisons. The latter is offering a drive-through facility in 50 of its store car parks.

Community pharmacies are also being enrolled in the effort, however, the nature of the requirement for the Pfizer vaccine makes it suitable only for locations which can deliver a minimum of 950 doses a day. Once other vaccine products become more readily available thae smaller locations can be considered.
