Boohoo’s new 23,000 sq.ft. Leicester factory and training centre has been opened with the creation of 180 jobs. It will operate two shifts and look to host students and other groups who wish to learn about garment manufacture, as well as offer its own product teams training in the technical aspects of agrment production.
Boohoo CEO John Lyttle said: “By operating the site as a centre of excellence, we want to bring back skills that have been lost over time and help our suppliers to diversify their product offerings, meaning they can win business from other retailers who we are hoping will be tempted to start sourcing from the UK again.”
