Naked Wines addresses significant trading issues

Naked Wines (NW) chairman Darryl Rawlings has stepped down from his post with immediate effect and will leave its board at the end of October. He has been replaced by David Stead.

Meanwhile, the business is faced with addressing a drop in demand which has continued despite its growth strategy which saw the business significantly increase its commitment to its wine maker suppliers, in expectation of customer gains.

NW had made around 6 per cent of its employees redundant and reduced its projected marketing spend by £18 million, as it adjusts its revenue expectations downward.

Founder Rowan Gormley recently returned to the business as an independent advisor.
