Bedding and home accessories cataloguer The White Company
posted strong full-year results, “confirming its status as
one of the UK’s fastest-growing private companies”,
according to The Telegraph.

Multi title mailer JD Williams will build a new warehouse
at its site in Hadfield, reports the Buxton Advertiser. The expansion will
create approximately 30 jobs.

The Sunday Mirror ran a fun article
celebrating the 35th anniversary of the Argos catalogue
and comparing best-sellers from 1973 (a fondue set for
£7.95, a harpoon for £20.25) and today. The Daily Record has a similar article,
though it focuses more on the genesis and history of the company.

Zlio.com, an online portal that combines affiliate
marketing with social networking, launches in the UK today.
The Financial Times describes it as
“an internet version of the Tupperware party–a way of
recommending products to friends and relatives in return for a
small commission”.
