News roundup–White Stuff, Mamas and Papas, more

Apparel retailer White Stuff is in the red after
posting a £7 million loss in the year to April 2011, reports
the Telegraph. The loss comes after writing off
£21.6 million of goodwill. Were it not for the impairment,
White Stuff would have made an operating profit of £15
million, up from £14.6 million in the previous year.
Revenues during 2010/11 grew 20 per cent to £100.8
million.

Abel & Cole and Riverford are
among those mentioned in an Independent feature on the growing popularity
of the veg box.

The Telegraph profiles David and Luisa Scacchetti
the founders of Mamas & Papas, who are said to
be planning to take the nursery products business to “every
corner of the world”.
