Vente-Privee shares its secret with the Dutch market

Secret-sales website Vente-Privee is further
expanding into northern Europe with the launch of a new Dutch
website. The new English-language site is aimed not only to cater
for the Dutch market but to also be a springboard for further
expansion into other northern European countries. This latest
move comes after Vente-Privee’s entry into the US market earlier
this year and follows on from existing sites in France, Germany,
Spain, Italy, the UK, Austria and Belgium.

The French company now has 13 million members in eight European
countries and in 2010 it had sales of £823.6 million ($1.32
billion), a rise of 15 percent on the previous year. By expanding
into the Netherlands, Vente-Privee hopes to tap into the
potential that the Dutch market has to offer, where 63 percent of
the population already shops online. Jorg Hensen, who was
appointed as director of northern Europe last June, will
supervise activities on the Dutch website.
