CDS Superstores backs Wilko marketplace with Mirakl technology

CDS Superstores is investing in the wilko.com marketplace using Mirakl technology to make it easier for third-party sellers to join and trade on the site.

CDS Superstores, which trades as The Range, Wilko and Homebase, announced the move on 29 October. It has not said how much it is investing.

What changes

Wilko already runs a marketplace. Mirakl’s platform will be used to:

  • simplify onboarding for new sellers
  • automate marketplace operations
  • monitor seller performance

Existing sellers will get updated functionality. The business says the investment will help it grow three categories in particular: health and beauty, home, and pets.

Part of a wider digital programme

The Mirakl deal is part of a wider digital development programme for Wilko. This includes Google Cloud technologies and AI Commerce Search, which is already live on wilko.com to help customers find products. Wilko announced the Google Cloud partnership in April 2026.

On 27 October, CDS Superstores extended its fulfilment and courier management contract with THG Fulfil, which covers online orders for The Range, Wilko and Homebase. THG Ingenuity’s release on that deal said CDS Superstores was also using Mirakl’s platform to support the growth of The Range’s online marketplace.

Background

The Range bought the Wilko brand and intellectual property in September 2023, after the original Wilko business went into administration. CDS Superstores has since reopened Wilko stores, relaunched click and collect in April 2024, and bought the Homebase brand and some of its stores in November 2024.

Alex Simpkin, chief executive of CDS Superstores, said the business was “backing the brand with leading technology to support its growth for the long term”. He said Mirakl’s technology would make it easier for sellers “to join us and grow with us”.

Other UK retailers using Mirakl for their marketplaces include Argos, Debenhams Group and Freemans.
